Service Contents:

1. Vocational rehabilitation assessment for service users in formulating person-centred and individual rehabilitation plan with regular review; 

2. Basic training programmes in respect of self-care, life skills, social and communication skills, emotions and stress management, budgeting and life planning;

3. Advanced training programmes for service users to develop potentials and talents, and prepare for supported or open employment;

4. Engage and maintain a network of potential employers including private companies and social enterprises that offers job attachment, job trial and open employment opportunities for service users;

5. Employment-related training and coaching, job finding and matching, job attachment and job trial;

6. On-the-job coaching and supervision, job-related guidance, post-placement service, social and recreational activities, and family life education activities for service users, their families and job providers.

Service quota:

171 (IVRSC:85、SE:33、WEP:53)

Target Group:

Persons with disabilities who are aged 15 or above in need of support and vocational rehabilitation service.

Fees and Charges:

Free.

Application Procedures:

1. Referrals can be made by school social workers, medical social workers, family caseworkers and staff of rehabilitation service units to  the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the SWD;

2. Referrers or applicants can also approach the service units for direct application (only for application for Supported Employment)

Work Extension Programme (WEP):

This Programme aims to meet the service needs of the existing service users of IVRSC who could no longer perform normal work tasks due to old age or deterioration in work abilities. The services include work activities for sustaining residual work abilities, social and developmental programmes and caring activities for meeting the health and physical needs of service users.

The eligibility for WEP: 

1. IVRSC service users aged 40 or above (service users aged 60 or above would be accepted for the programme with no requirement of assessment;

2. For those aged 40-59, occupational therapist/ physiotherapist's assessment is required); and

3. In need of day care services other than vocational training due to old age or deterioration in work ability.
