Orienting to the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD)
Understanding the impacts of childhood trauma
Learning the concept of the window of tolerance (WTO)
Gaining a basic understanding of how the brain process threats
Learning three clinical tools: grounding, rewriting trauma story, and reflection exercise based on Finkelhor’s 4-step model
Case sharing

Format
The first half of the workshop will be focused on theories and mechanisms; the second half on clinical application (including in-class exercises) and case sharing/ discussion.

Member, Hong Kong Association of Doctors in Clinical Psychology (HKADCP)

Dr Tang is a HK and UK trained clinical psychologist. She has worked at a variety
of clinical settings, including a private clinic, outpatient community health centre
and public hospital. Dr Tang treats adolescents and adults who suffer from mild
to severe psychological distresses due to depression, anxiety, trauma-related
difficulties, abuse, relationship difficulties, stress/adjustment issues, and
acculturation issues. She is particularly interested in trauma-informed work,
helping individuals who suffer from childhood relational trauma.
