Service Contents:

1. Residential care;

2. Social skills and living skills training;

3. Academic guidance;

4. Individual and group counseling;

5. Leisure activities;

6. Community activities; and

7. Family activities or lectures

8. Clinical psychology services

Target Group:

Mildly mentally handicapped children aged 6-18 who are:

1. orphaned or not receiving adequate care from parents or relatives; or

2. in crisis or in need of short-term care away from their families.

Application Procedures:

Referrals can be made by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the Social Welfare Department.

 

Service charges:

Accommodation and meals are free of charge. Guardians have to pay for children's daily self-care expenses, petty cash, medical, educational, and transport expenses.

 

 

Discharge of Service:

  • Service user / carer request to withdraw from service
  • Exit from the service is subject to the needs of the child, case development and recommendation of the referrers. There should be prior discussions between both parties and together with referring worker on welfare plan. All parties are required to complete necessary formalities for formal discharge.
